Who Is The Pottery Den For?

You don't need to know anything about clay to belong here.

Whether you've never touched a pottery wheel or you've been throwing for years, The Pottery Den was built for you. Our Bozeman pottery classes welcome students of all ages and skill levels—from curious kids trying it for the first time, to teens looking for a creative outlet, to adults who want to learn something new, to those who've spent a lifetime wanting to try ceramics and finally have the time.

What to Expect at Your First Ceramics Class

Your first class at The Pottery Den is all about trying something new, getting a little messy, and enjoying the process—no experience needed.

When you arrive, your instructor will walk you through the basics with a quick demo before guiding you as you begin creating your own pieces. Whether you’re exploring hand-building or trying the wheel for the first time, you’ll be supported every step of the way in our Bozeman pottery studio.

There’s always a bit of a learning curve—especially with wheel throwing—but that’s part of the fun. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s getting your hands in the clay and enjoying the creative process in a relaxed, community-focused space.

We provide everything you need, including clay, tools, glazes, and aprons, and we handle all firing in our Bozeman community kiln. Just wear comfortable clothes, tie your hair back, and come ready to create.
